Foundation Formation for New Home in Covington
You want to “build out” an actual pad on your lot before you install the forms for your foundation. Having a substantial “cushion” of dirt perfectly formed and smoothed out, creating a flat surface, is the key to the solid base of building your new, custom home. As you can see in the pictures, the lot pad is formed out of additional dirt that is moved into place and shaped with equipment. At Ron Lee Homes, we know that a well-crafted, quality-built, and long-lasting new home starts with a solid foundation.
The first thing we do to create the lot pad is to have dirt delivered to the homesite. It takes a lot of dirt to build out an entirely new lot pad. As you can see, after the dirt is delivered, dirt work professionals arrange, move, smooth, and flatten the dirt into a perfectly formed pad. This process can take more than a day, and the pictures you see here were taken over a couple of days.
Once the pad is formed and ready, the next part of the foundation begins. Ron Lee Homes uses post-tension foundations. Before the slab is poured, forms need to be built for the concrete, and both electrical and plumbing components are installed in the ground. These pictures show the beginning of building the forms for the foundation, and as you can see, it’s a lot detailed work! We will try to get pictures of the concrete pour after the buzz and excitement of Mardi Gras is through. Hope you all had a safe and wonderful holiday with your family friends!!
